If we land Meadows we're in good shape. I'd be ecstatic

Bob Ojeda said on Post Game German has no business pitching to Freeman In a 1 to 0 game. Low ball RHP to low ball LHH with Rice LHP warm in the BP.

We are not good enough to continually overcome TC endless in game gaffe.

I am now convinced that Sandy's plan is to trade CY at the deadline, and replace him in the line-up with Bobby Abreu.  All CY has to do is hit, and we'll be seeing  Abreu by June 15th.

Montero doesn't have it tonight - down 3-1 after 2.  He was beat up by Mike Jacobs and Nick Evans.

Nowhere to go but up, the way they played today.

The Mets have to dump this work the count, drive up pitch counts approach. They seemed to be more aggressive on the road trip and seemed to go back to patient mode tonight. Someone who understands sabermetrics find me those numbers. Scratch the Hudgins plan altogether I say. Go after strikes and attack. So sick of watching guys take balls right down the middle. The approach doesn't match the skill set of the players executing it, save one or two.

Bad game, won't go nuts over it because it happens. But this team cannot go forward with 4 GURANTEED outs in this lineup. Pitcher, Tejada, darnaud, Granderson. Say what you want , but Granderson is a real problem. He looks washed up and awful. The strikeouts are bad and his contact is worse. Tejada is only a matter of time before he's gone , darnaud looks terrible but let's hope a full season can change that. His defense is crap as well. Needs to stop back handing balls in the dirt. This lineup is not good enough for these 4 outs. And the strikeouts have got to stop for a team that had ZERO power.

Gad we weren't no hit.  Whew!

I wish someone would just come out on tv and say the reason they are awful at home is because they know no one here has faith in them

Niese was the only one who played well--the rest are bums, at least for today! Granderson needs to wake up, and Chris Young better not start any bad habits, too! Bye!

This is the life of a mets fan.. I don't know why I haven't accepted it yet, at the age of 24 going through the same thing every year

Young is giving them their $7M worth being that he was only a 200 hitter last year and should do no better this year. Why give away Ike for $3.5M to acquire a CY for $7M.

Steven Glansberg

I'm still not worried about granderson, I think he'll figure it out.. he's more mentally tough than bay, he's just completely off, and with a hitting coach like hudgens who is clueless, a lot of guys in this lineup have been lost and never gotten the help to get out of it

There is no chance they sign drew.

I betcha Keith "has chipped out of the rough" plenty of  times......

To all the apologists on this board, the ones who talk about Tejada once hitting .280 or Ike once hitting 30 homers or Granderson or Colon or anyone, this team is awful.

They have absolutely no offense, spent $60 million on a complimentary player in Granderson and have no bullpen. None.

This team is simply horrendous.

Steven Glansberg

I'd move granderson to the two hole.. put him in front of wright, he's gotta see some fastballs then.. having CY or duda or some other hitter behind him gets him all breaking pitches, which he has no confidence and is lost now.. let him get in the 2, gain some confidence, then drop him to 4 again

Granderson can only be affective if he has 5 other top power hitters around him.i saw this  problem in december when we all read about the Mets interest in  Granderson. At the time i said no no no. He will hit some  home runs against righties but he is not what we need on this team.:Just too many weak hitters and strikeouts.

See Granderson--that's how you do it!

Granderson--pay attention to Freeman at bat!

So the Mets go 6-3 on the road, they come home and drop a game to the Braves. That's all this toxic board needs to get back to business as usual.

Harang.....0.70 ERA thru 4 starts.  Braves....best record in NL East.   Freddie Freeman hitting .390 on the year and .417 vs. the Mets   but you're right...team is piss poor.  oy vei

Jerry Colfer

Right. This hunt for strikes crap has to end. We are a strik out machine with no demonstrated power

Jerry Colfer

I think you are being kind with the 4 guaranteed outs. Tejada needs to go now. EY is not a reliable leadoff guy. Murphy is flailing, Wright can't catch up to average fastballs when he knows they are coming.

@Marc Lewchuck the proof will be in the pudding. Why would the Pirates give up any real talent for Davis?

at least I won't let Harang go 7 no hit innings!

@Steven Glansberg Granderson is making 60 million--please stop and let's not make excuses, he just has to freaking hit the damn ball!

@lindro88  You're delusional and exactly what brings the Wilpons joy.

Steven Glansberg

@lindro88  It's not about losing to the braves, it's about the way they lost... I'm normally optimistic, but tonight was completely deflating, any way you look at it

@lindro88  You're fooled by the DBack sweep. Most smart Met fans know this team sux more than a porn queen.

@dreamer3kx @Victor Triguero  I don't know...Ike's going through all the regular day stuff and an hour before they're going to take the field he gets word and starts telling his friends goodbye...?  The guys he came up with?  AND he was well liked according to all reports?  I'm just saying...I don't know

chestrock

@SuperDuper - I am not saying faith is why they stink - I guess to clarify my statement. They know when they come home we all expect them to lose, we think they are a minor league team, we boo and hate the owners. (Which I agree we should feel this way) It has to get in their head

jlga
jlga

They player Arizona. That's why they're 8-7, soon to be 8-8. They cannot hit. They will lose a lot of games where they're lucky to score 1 run.

LifelongMets

@queva @Steven Glansberg  Exactly. He makes money than most of us could dream of to hit a rounded piece of cork with a wooden club. He has 60 million reasons to find his problem and correct it.

Bat him second??? With his strikeouts?

C.K. Dexter Haven

@brosoul  Wilpons have no joy of  coming home from a 9 game roadtrip to a 2/3 empty stadium while there are close to 1,000 people watching the game on Metsblog...drinking the 6pack they got for the $8, ONE beer at Citi costs...

lindro88

Yea, the Wilpons love when people don't over react to every win or loss.

Last night the team looked lost every at bat there were boos and it was ridiculous don't go to the games to boo we are 8-8 season isn't over

Steven Glansberg

I@jlga  In his career he's a better 2 hitter than anywhere else.. and everyone in this lineup strike outs, not a valid excuse lol

@lindro88  Not worried at all. I know where this team is going to wind up....75 wins...if they're lucky.
