Today’s game: Mets at Pirates, 1:35 p.m. SNY

The Mets will complete their series with the Pirates today at 1:35 p.m. at PNC Park. The game will be televised on SNY and is on the radio at 710 WOR.

You can also follow the game at SNY Gameday Bartolo Colon (8-5, 3.67 ERA)  goes for the Mets against Edinson Volquez (5-6, 4.35 ERA).

this team sucks. tejada sucks. murphy is a good hitter but he's not a second baseman and even though he has improved you shouldn't have players playing out of position. duda sucks. chris young is horrible. wheeler, who was scouted as a better prospect than harvey has a 4.50 era or somewhere around there. bobby abreu was a great player in his prime but do we really need players who are over 40 years old. d'arnaud is nothing we expected him to be but he gets a pass bc he needs time and at bats to develop at the major league level. our manager sucks. our owner sucks. our general manager sucks. maybe we suck?

befor.e I signed up for the day I've got to get my last opinions.it always seems like we have an automatic out coming up when we have running in scoring position. I also think Grandy needs a day off or two. I also think we should never see the likes of Chris young or Bobby Abreau. young simply can't hit and Bobby cannot pinch hit. I would give Grandy to games off.those couple of games I would go with Eric Young Nieuwenhuis Murphy Duda Campbell Travis J lag and tEjada. when brandy thomas back I would lead off either eric or kirk and then go with the same line up down the road with Grandy in the 2 slot. have a great night everyone to see you back in tomo rrow night

What's sad is that, even with the losing, the value of this franchise continues to go up and by a lot. The Wilpons are making money no matter the record. So they won't sell.

Where were those timely hits when they had men in scoring position all game?? This team is so frustrating.

Terry collins is not happy about being 37-44. Well, we are 37-45 now. I wonder what he feels about that

good double by travis d'arnaud, and lagares got a hit, a bit of silver lining

The sad truth is that they really need to completely bottom out before ownership does anything.  As long as they're in this continuous 74 win proximity, the excuses will keep coming and nothing will change.  It's been 5 and 1/2 years of this nonsense.

Don't worry. We will still win 90 games, right Sandy?

our team sucks for the last six years, competed for three years prior to that, sucked again for another 5 years, competed for another 3 years, sucked for the early to mid 90's. do you see a pattern here. do you expect us to ever win a championship if we suck 80 percent of the time. the name of the game is to compete every year like the yankees, tigers, cardinals, etc. that's how you end up winning a championship

@mustang66 Nieuwenhuis should definetly play centerfield. Lagares can field better but Nieuwenhuis is a good center fielder and can hit much better. When Wright returns I would put Campbell at short. He is a hitting machine and the way he plays third he could handle short. With Kirk and Campbell in we take away two automatic outs.

@theglider people love the mets man. The mets can be the worse team in the league, and people would still love them

They could close off the stadium to fans and still make money. When other sports team are sold the value of the Mets rises. This year the Wilpons are probably worth $200 million more than when the year started.

@Joe Wenzel oh yeah, the prediction was really more wishful thinking, had Sandy been a betting man, he wouldn't have bet the house by any means on a 90 game winning season. The mets really got so many hits in this game, they have to bring some more runs home. Really could have scored like 7 runs in this game, but no long ball, no power. Travis d'Arnaud is hitting the ball a bit better.

@Joe Wenzel me too. The mets really could use his bat heating up, and also Eric Campbell is seeing the ball well also.
