I hope Terry screwball Collins comes back to us and plays Lagares, Flores, and CY everyday. Please sit Tejada, EyY everyday. They should only start a few games a year. If TC was a better manager we would be in 1st place now. He is costing games. Don't even get me started on how bad he handles pitchers.

No joke, I felt more confident with Mejia in the 9th than I have with any closer since regular season Benitez. Not to be confused with post season Benitez. Don't have to worry so much about walks.

I could see this from TC:

Reporter: Lagares had a great game today. Does he start tomorrow?

TC: Well, he had a great game, but do do I have s crystal ball? He was expanding the zone today but got some good swings. He must be tired by giving such a decent effort

I think I'll sit him tomorrow.

Reporter: Paging Morris Butter maker.....

Do you think we can hope for that Collins squeezes in Lagares in the lineup already in the next week someday?

Give Colon some credit as well. 8 solid innings. Probably could have finished it, although I'm glad Mejia did

Not going to get ahead of myself, but Mejia has the stuff, command, and moxie to turn himself into a legit closer. 3-2 count he wasn't afraid to break off that slider. No grooving a get me over fastball. Shows confidence. If all the nonsense we had to watch leads to Mejia turning into a guy we can trust the rest of the season, it will all have been worth it. Mr Lagares, just showed his GM and Manager that it is time cut out the bs. Lagares should be the 2nd name TC writes on his lineup card everyday. After Campbell of course.

isn't great to see a met lineup without an automatic o for 4 from granderson and an automatic 0 for 4 from d'arnaud....

Let's see. Lagares starts, goes deep, and we win. I hope you were watching Collins.

That looks like a closer to me!

Mejia as the closer makes too much sense..

and there is your closer!

@eric88 I agree with you on the majority of your suggestions, with the exception of sitting Eric Young... Sorry, but he has to play and is of much value to the Mets. When a Speed Demon gets on base, this improves the chances for the hitters behind him to get a Plethora of Fastballs and that is what every baseball desires and craves...

@Ray Carattini  "I told you guys he needed some time off. Look how smart it was for me to bench him!"

"We gotta find at-bats for Abreu. He's really swinging the bat well".

I still view him as a good pitcher, but he's been mostly disappointing thus far. Hopefully this is the start of a turnaround for him.

Wheeler better step it up. If Degromm and Montero both look good, and he keeps struggling, he could wind up in Vegas.

@John Plain  breaking news Bobby Abreu has been announced as the Starting Cf the rest of the year

@Michelle Sparno  Well Rivera is a rarity - because all closers - even All-Stars have peaks & valleys but for a few years w/ the Mets McDowell & Orosco were pretty damn efficient!

@Michelle Sparno If we trade him, we won't get anything of value in return. Furthermore, every baseball that is worth its weight has at least one veteran who can be counted on to not crumble when the chips are down. Let's face it, the youthful pitchers that the Mets have are still in the learning process, look at Zack Wheeler...

@lindro88 I was thinking the same thing. He really needs to come through with a few good outings, or he could be the odd man out when Gee returns. And with Syndergaard holding his own in Vegas, Wheeler might be the one who eventually gets dealt.

So we can not spend more $.

@Michelle Sparno  MLB does let you choose which team's telecast IF you have the Premium package, otherwise it's whoever...

I seem to remember he did some Met games many years ago. Unless I'm confusing him with someone else.

@JimmyFromDBX @Michelle SparnoIt's pretty sad, but watching these last five years of crappy baseball makes me long for the 2007 and 2008 collapse teams, because at least those were good teams that were playing for something in the end (even though our hearts got broken).
