I love all the people flipping out about Wheeler. He has made 17 big league starts. Just because he wasnt good today doesnt mean we should write him off. All of you people are absolutely insane.

National announcers are such homers I just watch the Darnaud HR on mets.com and I'm guessing since it was Strasburg pitching trying to protect him all they said was how the wind carried it and it's a fly ball every other day STOP!!!! I understand Strasburg is good but he is human he makes mistakes their have been better pitchers and will be better that have given up HR's

Nationals announcers taking all credit away from the Mets performance.

can anyone pinpoint when Ike Davis started squatting so deep in his stance? He looks uncomfortable and off balance before a pitch is even thrown. He used to be much more upright and relaxed. Don't really understand how that stance change could help anyone.

Terry has this team ready for the season our starters cant go 5 and we get one inning of scoring and sleep walk the rest of the game.

When did the Osama bin Laden look become all the rage in baseball?  I'm surprised they let half these guys get on airplanes.

We are very lucky with our announcers, ever listen to a Yankee's game on the radio?

@Nicholas Vargas  I used to live in DC and the Nats' broadcasts have been wretched since Don Sutton went back to the Braves.

@Nicholas Vargas  it's been nauseating listening to them gush over the Nationals. that seems to be the case with most any broadcast team outside of Gary, Keith and Ron, though.

That happened when he got sent down to the minors last year.

@72tilltc If you look at the standings, we are 14-12-2. Why does every freak out over one game? What about all the crooked numbers the Mets have put up all spring? The comebacks? The walkoffs? Come on dude...this is baseball. You dont go 162-0. Even the best teams win only 60% of the time.

@Chad Snaider  The one of Ike and Duda who isn't starting the season at 1B might only be the 25th man on the roster until Niese comes off the DL.

@Chad Snaider Sandy did say today that Lagares is best served being in AAA if he's not starting. Which I'm glad to hear as that's been my line of thinking as well.

@Chad Snaider idk but right now were in bigger need of some offense than defense and if eric young can constantly get on base during the season like he's doing today, he is of more value than lagares at the moment. thats just my opinion. probably 99% of the blog readers disagree with me

@ponzies86 All of you people are ridiculous. Its one spring training start. He is what, 22/23? If you recall, Harvey had issues with walks and Syndergaard walked 5 in 10 IP this spring.

He has made 17 starts.  You have no idea what he will be.

@nymess @Nicholas Vargas  They were gushing in the 9th inning how Matt Williams left all his starters in for all 9 innings in a ST game and it's never been done before with a Washington squad.

@jamets  thought I saw some variation of it starting in 2012, except with his hands starting above his head.

@Brian Webster @Chad Snaider  ya i agree if he is not starting he should be in AAA. But i do think he will and should be starting in CF, unless he REALLY struggles with the bat

@Irving A. Gonzalez Ramirez @Chad Snaider  saw this from marc craig " Alderson reaffirms that if Lagares doesn’t hit he’s going to Triple-A. But it sounds like he’ll have a chance to make it here first."

@Chad Snaider @ponzies86 @Irving A. Gonzalez Ramirez  ok well his lack of control has been a problem since his minor league days and it still hasnt improved, I got Wheeler to lock up the # 3 spot in this rotation and if Montero is as advertise I wouldn't shy away to say put Montero at #3 spot and move Wheeler to the #4

Syndergaard will be a 1 Harvey will be a 1-b montero will be a 3 and wheeler will be a 4 with Gee Mejia or Colon rounding out the 5 spot

@Chad Snaider @ponzies86 @Irving A. Gonzalez Ramirez  Im going to tell you now, Harvey and Synderguarrd will be the BEST 1 -2 duo in the National League for years to come.
