Game was/is on TV right now. Has been on, if anyone didn't know this or hasn't realized yet.  It aired on Fox Sports Midwest (FSMW) - if you have directTV you would have been able to watch the game.  The game second game is not airing.

I don't know who this Travis Tajeron kid is but he's looking pretty good so far

Vic Black looks great this spring. S.A. was perhaps right on his 90 win prediction.

Vic Black just looking absolutely awful again...ugh.

Maybe a rotation of wheeler, colon, gee, montero, mejia.. Syndergard is still gonna start in AAA

Absolutely no way Tejada is starting, guy's hitting .090 with 4 errors. My guess is they trade for Franklin or Flores starts.

John Franco colorizing the game today and he said that Ike and Duda should be playing  thru their injuries to get ready for the season. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!

What a team! Lousy players; injured players; stupid players and most of all a front office that has no   clue...even teams with a below $75 ml. payroll are better than the Mess.

It's impossible to stay positive with this team when you got a shortstop who has made an error in half the games hes played already and can't hit, and with all the injuries that seem to plague this team year in and year out

@PlayMHSSports Was anyone impressed with what they saw in Bartolo Colon yesterday ?  I wasn't. Hope this 2 year signing isn't going to be a bust.

Niese is done.  Let's bring up the kids, we already know the Mets aren't trying this year (again).

I remember last year being killed because I thought if Niese would have gotten Justin Upton it was a deal you'd have to do.  I have a feeling he's never going to be anything more than an injury prone 500 pitcher.

When will TC and Alderson understand that Tejada is not the answer at SS. Play Flores. Let him get accustomed to his natural position and leave him there.

Since Niese went down with shoulder issues last year I knew he was not going to be the same. He is done. We are stuck with him. His injury now makes it even more difficult to trade one of the bright prospects for a SS. And if we want Drew now we will have to overpay even more for him now that Detroit is intersted. It is going to be a long season boys.

Nice knowing you Niese. Thanks for the 6 years and 43-40 record.

as per Adam Rubin on Twitter;

"@AdamRubinESPN

Jon Niese says he hyperextended elbow. Had been rehabbing it. Says back of elbow, not Tommy John ligament area."

Take that as you will...would like to think this opens the door for Mejia to make the starting rotation, or perhaps Montero (though I doubt that). Trying to look for some silver lining here with what is looking like another mess of a team this year...

Nice job Terry putting Tejada back out there, no reason to put Flores there so we can find out if he can play. Bad move by mets brining him back, they guy has no creativity or think outside the box ability. This franchise is embarrassing right now, go get Drew so we can at least have an every day/major league caliber SS before the Tigers do. Drew and Boras need to suck it up too, they made a bad decision not take the 1 yr 14 mil from redsox but now must realize that was too much and agree to a fair market deal and stop crying about no one being interested.

@SuperDuper  Q plays well when you don't over use him. Platoon. Flores[R], Q[L]. Good production.

@hrvwlzthor  Drafted out of college 3 years ago. Highest level reached so far, AA. 25 yrs old

@Chad Snaider Agree but I think Lannon will start instead of Montero. I could see Montero in the BP though.

No way that Flores starts at SS. They aren't even willing to give him extended time at the position in spring training. Why do I see Q back at the position when all is said and done?

With the niese injury, maybe we hold on to our pitching. Prob not trading for franklin now

Don't worry about Colon. He is working on a slow slow pitch that will help him win 17 games for the Mets.

Marky Mark

@Mark Schuckman  I wouldn't worry about spring training stats for a veteran like him.. He's just trying to get his arm and secondary pitches ready, no need to impress anyone

@mets2891 Thing is, I'd be willing to bet Montero/Thor starting in the rotation would result in more victories for the team. Couldn't have that, could we? Got to protect those arbitration clocks.

So they used the money from the expired contracts to acquire players just like they said they would. They never said they were going to increase payroll. Niese injury happened an hour ago You have no idea what they might do to deal with it,but you are already complaining about it.Their starting 8 is 50% different from who started last season and their rotation is 60% different? how is that roughly the same team/rotation?If you don't think the opening day roster this year is not better than the roster that started the season last year, you need to look again.

Looks like they've decided to punt another year due to Harvey's injury. Just inexcusable. i wouldn't give up yet though on the catcher.

@Victor Triguero Your points are very well said.  Unfortunately, it's a second class organization. Mets need new ownership and a new front office.

Niese has been fragile his whole career. It started with that ham string covering first and just continues. He has great stuff, but velocity is down and combined with his stamina makes him a weak link. Our only lefty starter...crap!

Youre prob right, i would rather see montero though lol

@1harris1 Unfortunately, I agree with you Harris. They really should have been giving Flores half the starts at short all spring. These games mean nothing, and if he proves he's not up to the task, oh well, he just goes down to AAA and plays some second and first (and possibly third if they plan on showcasing him for a trade later). They can't roll with Tejada again, but I'm afraid that's what we're going to see.

Ha! Hope you're right and I'm wrong. But.....

Andrew Sodergren
Andrew Sodergren

@SuperDuper @Andrew Sodergren@mets2891Yep, Mets operating just like the Astros. Houston has a talented young OF named George Springer. Think he put up a 40/40 year between AA and AAA last year. But he's not likely starting the season with the big club, because they know they're going to suck anyway and want to protect that extra year of abitration so they can have him hopefully when they're winning again. The actual good teams (and the ones that don't have payroll problems anyway) aren't afraid to start guys in the bigs if they feel they're ready. Red Sox did that with Jackie Bradley last year, and although he proved he wasn't quite ready, Sox still did it without regarding the arbitration clock. But most teams do exactly what the Mets are doing, and I don't like it.

Andrew Sodergren
Andrew Sodergren

@Victor Triguero @1harris1Exactly why I wouldn't trade Plawecki. Think they need to hang on to him at least this year, just in case d'Arnaud can't handle the job. If d'Arnaud blossoms, hopefully you get a good year out of Plawecki at AA and AAA, which increases his value for a trade next year. And if d'Arnaud fails, you have your backup option in house.
