I still think it makes sense to move mejia for a young ss. This yr is still a rebuild and dice k stinks but he can pitch half a yr then dump him for syndergaard

Ike had an 0'fer today, lets all get off the band wagon, he really isnt that good at all!    i hope management/ownership is still open to make an upgrade at SS too, Tejada, 1-4 today?

Great throw by Recker. Sorry, but d'Arnaud couldn't have made that play.

If everything goes right this season. Guys stay healthy and have career seasons, 3rd place in the division is a real possibility.

Let's Go Mets!

This should be opening day lineup, no question, with duda, q, brown, satin and recker on the bench...

Lagares needs to work on offense in minors, no defensive specialist can be an every day player, especially not on a poor offensive team like the mets...tejada needs to be cut, he just flat out sucks

I'm cool with Flores getting a break.  Why not?  It's spring training.

This site is a joke.  The lack of caring and professionalism is very evident.  The team of contributors on metsmerizedonlinedotcom do a great job, I'll be spending my time there going forward.

So if Teagarden comes up with himself on base does he get to call a ghost runner?

The best part is that it hasn't been fixed yet.  It's like someone threw it up and said "there now we're done for the day".

How about picking up Eric Bedard? he just opted out of his contract and said he would be willing to pitch out of the bullpen. Over his career lefties hit.242 BA against him compared with Lannan's career .323 against lefties...

This was posted almost 3 hours ago. Several glaring errors, and nobody on this website who gives enough of a $#!^ to fix it.

I could accept this from a fan-run, independent blog, but not one that has several "contributors" and backing from a major sports network in the biggest baseball market in America (and arguably the world).

I've let a lot slide from this sham of a website and sham of an organization, but this is about enough for me. Anybody know any alternatives for Mets news? I don't want to contribute to this joke of a website anymore.

@rubiconx0 You are the exact type of "METS FAN" I can't stand. If Ike has and 0fer than he sucks, but when he goes 3 for 3 and hits a homerun well it's only ST it doesn't matter what he does. So, if ST doesn't matter then why do you bash him when he fails but don't give him any credit when he does well?

Uh, we were third last season, and have improved. In your scenario we win 90. We are n 82-85 win team.

Flores should get the nod over Tejada, but I'd be shocked if it happened. It would be the right call, but it's not how the Mets do business. They prefer to continue to screw things up.

@Robby Post  Teagarden needs the at bats.

I'm surprised they are not batting Ike 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th so help him get the 100 at bats that Collins said he would get Ike in spring training.

@sylow59 Nes Neserized Online actually.

Truly amazing that they are willing to steal articles and things from them but won't allow us to post their name.

@brockl @Olerud42My god brockl, let it go. No one knows what might be up with Flores today - as another poster mentioned, perhaps he's just not feeling well. Even if that's not the case, do you really think one spring training appearance will sway the team's opinion of him one way or another? He has been in the organization for many years -  I think they probably have a pretty good idea of how well he can play shortstop.

And claiming that playing SS in AAA is not the same as the MLB level is just silly. Hitting against AAA pitching vs MLB is one thing, but getting to ground balls up the middle or in the hole or turning a DP are not going to be in any way different.

And just because people disagree with you doesn't make them idiots. Try a little civility.

@brockl @Olerud42  Who said he isn't ready?  Maybe they think he is and doesn't need to start everyday.

Olerud42

@brockl @Olerud42  Spring training is to get your players ready for the regular season. If Flores is ready, then what's the difference?

Olerud42
Olerud42

@brockl @Olerud42  "No, not if you can read, it doesn't mean that to me."

Um, it doesn't matter if it "means that to you."  It's not an opinion. It logically follows.

@metsjetsdu  I don't have a strong opinion on TC either way. I think he's pretty average.

metsjetsdu
metsjetsdu

@Olerud42 @metsjetsdu @Steven Matregrano @brockl  Besides asking me if I think Sandy is stupid, which is foolish, do you have any real argument as to why TC deserves this managerial position ? Cue the look at what he's been given argument ....

metsjetsdu
metsjetsdu

@Olerud42 @metsjetsdu @Steven Matregrano @brockl  No . He doesn't really believe this team is ready to win. I honestly believe that TC was a goner until Harvey went down. TC is here because he is a yes man. I believe that when sandy really believes this team is ready to win 90, you will see it with his actions and not his words and TC will be let go.

metsjetsdu
metsjetsdu

@Steven Matregrano @brockl  i find it pretty funny hahah not butthurt either. Every time someone defends TC, it is a clear indication that they either don't understand baseball or simply don't like winning. The man is a loser. He does not win. Carry on, this is entertaining.
