People are really giving up on D'Arnaud already? Geez...

Why is there even a discussion about starting Lagares in CF. The guy is a walking highlight reel. This reminds me of when the Mets played Kaz Matsui at SS and Reyes at 2B.

I think I know what is going to happen for the season, TC will play the favorites until July when its all over and then bring in the  guys that want to play  baseball for the 2015 season when Sandy gets his pitchers in the stable. What crap! I hope I'm wrong due to the fact that I've waited all winter for Mets baseball.

I don't want you guys to jump on me and crusify me., but I predict that Den Decker will be a much much better player than Lagares, Thou Lagares is a very good CF. But DEE DEE jumps on the ball faster has a good arm too, and I think he will hit for average and with some power. Wait and see!!!!!

Again this team does not quit. There you go 9 innings of mostly positive comments. Most on here just want to focus on the negative and there is a lot there, but there are also some positives that people don't want to admit.

Damn, what a shot by Recker. I know it's only ST, but on any given day when the Mets put the wood to the Braves, THAT is a good day!

I have said it couple of few times, This guy Recker is a very good looking player(not a prospect anymore) He should be in a team that gives him an opportunity to play everyday. He is a good catcher and now he is a power hitter. ( He swings pretty good) . I am not comparing but he at times looks like Albert Pujols.

Davis 0-3 today. At least he's consistent; he's hitting .111 for spring training and that's about what he hits during the season.

Despite throwing error Flores had a decent def inning.A quality def 1st baseman would have saved him the error

Nice play by Flores, bad throw...but come on, Satin, gotta make that catch.

Campbell making a run at Satin's job.He will start in Vegas but has a chance to earn his way back up

As long as Ike is in the lineup the Mets go nowhere. Have Soup take over first base whether he can play the position.....hehehe

D'Arnaud does not appear ready for major league pitching. I know it is just spring, but he looks lost. Having Recker as a backup feels like surrender. With an offensively challenged lineup, it iis tough to see this working out for us.

Fundies Fundies Fundies Flores can't get a bunt down Lutz can't get the runner in from third with less than 2outs.Winning teams get those thing done.

@Olerud42  Its not we have given up its  that he is lost at the plate, he may have a good arm in throwing out guys stealing but he will never  be a .260 hitter. Never. Of course that is my opinion.

@greekgod I think your prediction is spot-on. This is a clearly flawed team but with a fair amount of potential down the line. Just hate to waste another year in Baseball Limbo.

@Antonino Plaud I'm on board with you.  Although Lagares is by far the better athlete, Den Dekker is the much smoother outfielder.  It's his natural position, and Lagares started out as a SS.  Just watch the routes each of them take to the ball.  Juan can make up for a bad jump/judgement on a ball with his speed and athleticism.

After last year, I had visions of Den Dekker in CF and Lagaras in RF.  You just need Den Dekker to stay healthy and stop striking out so much.

Ike Davis is horrible 200 hitter lucky if he hits 15 homers

Your not impressed with David Wright.you realize that makes your judgement of talent very questionable.

@Jerry Colfer  Correct as I have stated before he is a .200 hitter give or take a point or two.

@Ed Yano why is Flores getting the bunt sign in that spot. it's spring training. he would make his way into this lineup by showing he can swing the bat and drive in runs.

@Thomas McKeever They don't think Flores can play SS. I guess they weren't impressed by him defensively in the game or at practice.

@greekgod @Olerud42Career minor league ave. of .286 over about 1800 AB. A AAA ave. one year of .333 over 279 at bats. You're basing your conclusion on about 100+ Major League at bats. I'd take that bet.

If he can give us 25 to 30 home runs idc if he bats0 .190 like Carlos Pena did for the rays 3 years ago

@Ken Thall @MetsOregonHe just worked his way into the line-up a little more. Perhaps he platoons with Travis? I forget however, what the book was on Recker's work behind the plate.

People on this forum don't like Recker because his career average is low. Personally I think he's a better defensive catcher than d'Arnaud.

@Thomas McKeever @nymessthrow was definitely wide since Flores had to get rid of it quickly, but it looked like Satin kind of short armed it a little...had to reach across his body since he's right-handed.

@greekgod @Jerry Colfer  Sandy needs to justify trading for him so he will play. Funny how everyone thinks he is a cant miss, Wheeler to. Prospects that get traded twice are usually misses and those traded by Brian Sabean usually are not stars.

Ed Yano
Ed Yano

Flores needs to be able to bunt he is never hitting with enough power to bat 34or 5.

Ed Yano

It's not ok if the backups can't execute the basic fundamentals. We are at the point in ST were execution becomes important.Time to start playing to win.

Zac Tindall

If he starts hitting sandy will trade him unfortunately it's become the mets way. Sign unknown player/ High risk high reward type. He performs better than predicted flip him in trade for a prospect

You are right there, but were his eyes closed!
