Great game! Same two issues arose in the last inning. Tejada not coming through and TC forgetting to pinch hit for Recker.

It's absolutely amazing to me how the Wilpons aren't getting KILLED everyday for this team they have flat out LIED to us, the fan base.

This was the year that the Mets were supposed to start spending again and we once again we get nothing but LIES from this ownership.

Now before one of you say something like "there are teams that win with lower payrolls", well yes i no that. If we had been winning all these years with a $50million payroll id say "more power to ya" but when you have such a MINOR LEAGUE TEAM, you MUST spend to fill the holes.

I think Sandy has done a pretty good job with the payroll he's had to work with. I have to bust him not getting anything for Reyes, Nothing! But I don't care who you are, Sandy's job has been real hard due to the Wilpons lies.

Which brings me back to my original point. The Wilpons MUST be forced to sell the team. Besides being the worst owners in All NY sports! THEY LIE TO US. they said they were going to spend money and they didn't. That's is whats called a L I E

Look I'm sorry that the Wilpons are having money issues but if you cant afford to have AT LEAST a $125-175 million dollar payroll every year then......

SELL

THE

TEAM

Owning a major league team is a PRIVILEGE. You have held the mets and by extension US THE FANS hostage over the last few years in which you have done nothing but lie to us. Now i hear that the Wilpons will spend when "fans come back to the ballpark" well that's NOT the way it's works. YOU AS OWNERS must spend money on good players AND THEN WE THE FANS WILL COME BACK.

He came through. Atta boy. Doesn't mean I'm sold on him being an everyday 1st baseman. A lot to be excited about today.

@ihatewlpns  Your points are dead on! All we heard from Sandy was that the target yet was 2014. Then once 2013 ended he amped the rhetoric up to an even higher level by claiming to finally having the money to spend.

This was all a show. A shell game. A mask. It was all a LIE. He spent less than he told us was available for him to spend. Meanwhile MLB got a giant raise from their new television contracts. So in truth the Mets made more money, but spent less while promising it's fans a better product.

It was all a sham. It was always going to be a sham. And as long as fans buy tickets, merchandise, over priced food and drinks it always will be a sham. A LIE

The only way to combat the Wilpons is to boycott the Wilpons. Sure, we can all watch the games on tv or listen to them on the radio. After all we are fans. But that's as far as our money should go with this team until they do something that proves the LIES are over
