The Mets own Cole Hamels

The Mets scored six runs Tuesday against Phillies starting pitcher Cole Hamels, who also walked Jon Niese with the bases loaded.

Hamels is 7-14 with a 4.65 ERA agains the Mets during his career.

“When you’re not able to execute, it creates a serious issue,” Hamels said after the game (Star-Ledger, Apr. 30). “It led to a very poor performance. I’m truly embarrassed. I didn’t give anybody a chance.”

Cole has not been right since his  Wannabee Duck Dynasty boyfriend Werth  went to the Nats .

The Mets have had Cole Hamel's number for a long time now.

Looks like Cole spit-the-bit. How in the world does a professional pitcher walk Jon Niese with the bases drunk?

Mets' kryptonite is young pitchers, particularly from the Marlins. This is a veteran the team is comfortable with. The Mets even manage to handle the Braves' closer a bit. Never totally comfortable since the Phils seem to have an ability to score in bunches, but Niese was aces last night. Even Papa Oh Vey didn't give up a run. A bit surprised at that -- figure he tries to make everything into a save situation (compare: up 6-2, the Seattle closer last night made it real hard on himself, Beltran coming up as the tying run, out on a 3/2 pitch).

Hamels looked like a guy who didn't want to be there last night, maybe he thought the game should have been called because the Mets do go back there a few more times!

Love it. He may be my most disliked player in the league.

Cole Slaw > Cole Hammels vs. The Mets

He's very skilled at choking against the mets. Some might even call him an artist at it.

@TheIrishParrot @SNYtv @metsblog @Mets  yeah cause they sorta were in the context of what he was saying. regardless of his poor performance(s) against the Mets, they did choke during the peak years of the philllie's success. and hamels was intracle to that success.

@Chris Kujawa  This would feel better if we were beating Hamels for a division, unfortuately they get the final laugh on that score since he was right.  Still good fun to beat him into a pulp :)

He's one of the more artistic pitchers in the league.
