Michael Baron, ContributorJohnson’s upside is really enticing, but he probably doesn’t fit what the Mets are trying to do in their rotation this winter, even if he could be had on a short-term deal. I’ve heard they want to sign one reliable, steady arm to also serve as a leader for the rotation, and bring other arms to camp to serve as depth to Jenrry Mejia. Johnson neither fits the profile of a reliable arm, nor does he qualify as a depth option for the rotation.
