Lucas Duda returned to hit a home run and play five innings at first base Friday, after missing most of March with a hamstring injury.
Terry Collins later said it is extremely very unlikely Duda will get playing time in the outfield.
Ike Davis returned from a calf strain Thursday and had three hits in six at bats.
“If somebody gets off to a slow start, we’re going to make a change,” said Collins (ESPN, Mar. 22). “We said we’re going to win baseball games, so we’ve got to get out of the gate, and we’ve got to get out of it on a positive note. And if someone slumps, we’ve got someone behind him.”
