Terry’s post game comments after the Mets loss to the Nats

After tonight’s 5-1 loss to the Nationals, Terry Collins talked to reporters and had the following to say about:

How hard it has been to manage through this stretch:

“I’ve done this long enough to know that you don’t ever give up. You don’t ever stop. You don’t ever stop grinding it out. You don’t ever stop trying to come up with a plan. You don’t ever stop walking through the locker room every day, making sure that guys are up beat, positive and ready to move forward. That hasn’t changed one bit. I still believe in them…When the season is over we’ll discuss the negative side and we’ll discuss it fast and quick, because there’s a lot of positives that we’re going to be able to move forward with.”

Collin McHugh, who allowed five runs on five hits in four innings pitched:

“Collin McHugh got here because he’s got great command of his stuff. He throws all of his pitches for strikes. He fell behind tonight. When you fall behind against these guys (Nationals) they are going to do damage to you.”
