Terry’s comments after the Mets 11th inning loss to the Marlins

Terry Collins talked to reporters after tonight’s loss and had the following to say about:

R.A. Dickey, who threw six innings and allowed three runs on seven hits:

“He was absolutely brilliant all season long… Everybody was motivated by all the excitement he created with the run he had… It was a tremendous year for him and we are very proud of what he’s done and the kind of person he is. It was fun to watch. … This guy’s been pitching with a bad stomach muscle for quite awhile… He said he aggravated it in the second (inning)… As he has all year long, he never made an excuse and just went out there and did the best he could.”

Bobby Parnell, who pitched two scoreless innings:

“He had a great second half. As I said last week, I think Bobby Parnell is ready to take the next big step. He’s prepared himself for it. His demeanor has changed on the mound. He’s so relaxed out there. His command of his fastball is really getting good…I think it’s time to take the next step.”
