While the team remains non-committal on Terry Collins’ future, there is a “strong expectation” he will remain as manager of the Mets beyond 2013, a team source told Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.
“There is internal respect for how [Collins] has navigated the seasons challenges,” Rubin writes.
In August, Rubin wrote the Mets had already made a tentative decision as to whether or not they were renewing Collins’ contract, although it was widely expected at that time he would be back in 2014.
The Mets are 213-245 in almost three years under Terry Collins.
