Work ethic and health will decide who ends up having the better career of course...and maybe home park..sorry Arch. Marcus Jensen 5pts Knowing the Mets Degrom will emerge as the best pitcher of all the prospects. dannym28 5pts 80 percent thor Muhammad Khan 5pts Because we r the Mets I can't believe these pitchers will amount to anything until it actually happens. Just look at Matt Harvey. Off to a great start and what happens? Tommy John surgery. Remember Pulsifer, Wilson and Isringhausen. BringBackDaveTelghe 5pts Walker took some massive steps backwards and besides...who cares about this?.. Matt Janusz 5pts Going into 2015 the Mets will have 3 legitimate starters that can throw 95 plus and throw in Mejia and Montero who can touch 95. Name me another staff outside of the cardinals with that much controllable pure talent in baseball.. Now that's exciting to think about Macacawitz 5pts I'm sure 99.5% of the people voting have never seen any of them pitch. This is highly scientific, of course. Macacawitz 5pts We shall see what we shall see. It all looks and sounds promising, but being a Mets fan, I'll believe it when I see it. If success were predicated on the volume of smoke you blow up your fans keisters, the Mets would be the greatest dynasty in sports. 'Giovanni Jiminez 5pts If Syndergaard is Thor and Harvey is The Dark Knight, who is Wheeler ? Flash ? Lol Hank259 5pts I think the edge has to go with Walker right now because he has elite stuff, and is the same age as Syndergaard but almost a year ahead of him in development. I actually think Bradley and Syndergaard are a toss up, but being a Mets fan, I'll go with big Noah. drmetfan 5pts Off topic. As per ESPN NY, Valdespin will sign with the Marlins. I guess we will see a lot of him next season. Let the benches clear when he gets plunked after posting for a HR his previous at bat at Citi. Ryan Flanagan 5pts I cant wait to see this guy pitch...he's got a chance to be better than Wheeler (I can't go as far as Harvey, even though I want to) Wheeler, Harvey and Syndergaard? That is so unbelievably filthy. Looking forward to that staff in 2015 including Niese. The Mets will really have a excess of pitching with Gee, Mejia, Montero among others vying for the 5th spot. What a great problem to have....if we can sort out the offensive side of the game this team will has perennial contender written all over it. Hopefully the torturous wait will be worth it. yankeehater 5pts Uh, its possible to have more than one ace. Who's to say that in 2016 we don't have 3 legitimate #1 pitchers? The mets are screwing up all over the board....but they got the young stud pitching down to a science. airfeet 5pts Bradley would be number one pick, personally. Erin II 5pts 57% Thor. Even Archie Bradley voted for him. Andrew Herbst 5pts I can't wait to see Thor come up. Andrew Wharton 5pts THOR AJF 5pts And most fans wanted to trade Syndergaard as soon as we got him! Watch he becomes the best pitcher we have bigstapler 5pts Syndergaard just bumped up to 54% with the traffic from here. But really though, the conversation should be Bradley vs. Walker. I choose the latter due to slightly better command and success at the upper levels. Syndergaard has neither the raw talent of Bradley nor the AAA dominance of Walker. They're all almost exactly the same age, which makes the comparison interesting too. Marcus Jensen 5pts Personally I think Syndergaard is overrated. Mechanically he looks like a mess to me. He's obviously very strong, but I have doubts about his ability to stay healthy and consistent. The Feels 5pts @Marcus Jensen You seriously have the funniest most entertaining pitching posts on here. I'm convinced you're just a huge troll, but I seriously love it. Never change. Starz31 5pts Harvey requiring Tommy John doesn't mean he isn't one of the best pitching prospects the mets have developed, I'd say the best since Gooden. Unfortunately TJ happens to 1/3 of all ML pitchers and it no longer is a death sentence but often a rite of passage. It sucks he won't be here next year but the top players have the work ethic and talent to rebound without missing a best. Just be happy the Mets actually have some legitimate talented young pitching. For all their mess in recent years, pitching can make you a contender real fast. It's also required to win inOctober. Bob Wolfe 5pts @Muhammad Khan Yeah, what's the connection? That was 18 years ago. dolemite 5pts @7up17togoPetit wasn't getting much attention outside of the organization though - because he didn't have the pure stuff and most thought he couldnt do it at the big league level. Marcus Jensen 5pts @7up17togo Yes every Mets prospect instantly becomes an untouchable God in the eyes of Mets fans. That is until he becomes Mike Pelfrey with the 5+ ERA.I remember the time when Ike was on the holy pedestal too, and any criticism of the great Ike Davis was instantly met with outrage. metfanjack 5pts Actually, i have something that is a million times better than Mr. Fantastic. How about the Human Torch! Batman, Thor, and the Human Torch! That sounds sick!!! metfanjack 5pts How about Mr. Fantastic? Wheeler is tall and has long (stretchy) arms...i guess lol hankypanky 5pts @'Giovanni JiminezWheels. bigstapler 5pts @'Giovanni Jiminez I like Robin. dannym28 5pts @'Giovanni Jiminez I believe Synder Will be thor Sean Matrai 5pts @Hank259 Bradley is steps up from where Syndergaard is. There is still question to whether Syndergaard is going to be a one ,because his changeup is still in development ,and needs to improve. hankypanky 5pts @drmetfanOh good. We can watch him an ass of himself while he does the samba at second. muskytoes 5pts @drmetfan Oh goodie for him. DIdn't he formerly post photos of himself wearing a Marlins cap? So we know he has their team gear already. Doubt we'd see any brawling though. That assumes the Mets have the guts to plunk anyone. ken1010 5pts @drmetfan Do the Terry Collins Mets ever plunk anyone? Anthony Testa 5pts Let's see if they can stay healthy an pitch in the majors before we go crazy James 5pts @yankeehaterLets see one of them be a legit #1 pitcher for a full season before we even think that though. Mike 5pts @AJF He wont be our best pitcher. Harvey will still be the staff ace when he comes back but Thor is a solid number 2. Agee's Catch 5pts @AJF That would be quite a staff indeed. Rich Anderson 5pts @bigstapler is "raw talent" the 6th tool for a baseball player? what does that mean??? airfeet 5pts @bigstapler but Walker hasn't dominated AAA. Dominated is simply the wrong word to use Rich Anderson 5pts @Marcus Jensen Thor let you film him on the back fields in FLA. so u could break down his mechanics? Sean Matrai 5pts @Marcus Jensen lol Bob Wolfe 5pts @Marcus Jensen Why? He's been healthy and consistent since 2010 in the minors throwing mid-90s. There's been no indication he's an injury waiting to happen. airfeet 5pts @Marcus Jensen Syndergaard has very clean and simple mechanics. Not sure what you are referring to here ElVPresidente 5pts @Marcus Jensen"Wheeler's command is much better."No disrespect, bro. But that is the single whackiest thing I've read here in weeks. dexx 5pts @Marcus Jensen Dude, he has the best pitchers body of the three Erin II 5pts @Marcus Jensen Personally, I think you don`t know what you`re talking about. You also said Puello will be cut before the end of the season. Makes me think that you know jack about the Mets farm. Andrew Wharton 5pts @Marcus Jensen I disagree. He has pretty solid mechanics in my eyes. Christopher Soto 5pts @Marcus Jensen Where did you watch him? Cause I saw him pitch 3 times in Binghamton and he looks mechnically sound to me. In fact he looked better in all those starts than the 2 Wheelers start I watched the previous season Mike 5pts @Marcus Jensen If anything Wheeler mechanic's are probably the worst of any of the Mets starting pitching prospects. Syndergaard has solid mechanics, its evident by his command, control, and low BB rate. Agee's Catch 5pts @Marcus Jensen Where is the damned "unlike" button..... Calamity Francis 5pts Batman, Robin and Thor. Not sure Wheeler would like that, but I sure do. drmetfan 5pts @ken1010 @drmetfan Well, since NO ONE on the team likes him I can see him getting drilled if he does posts after a HR against the Mets. However, if he does, that shows he has not matured and is still the kid that was released. dexx 5pts @Mike @AJF It remains to be seen if Harvey can pitch at such a high level without injuring himself. Your body isnt made to throw a ball 100mph repeatedly for 15 years bigstapler 5pts @airfeet @bigstapler Okay, dominance is the wrong word, I agree! His ERA was *only* 3.61--in the PCL--but he did strike out 10+ per 9 innings. He also debuted in the majors and was above average in 3 starts. Let's call it "success" not "dominance." Either way, Syndergaard has not pitched above AA yet. Marcus Jensen 5pts @7up17togo @Marcus Jensen lol, exactly. And 3 years ago any criticism of Ike Davis was met with similar outrage. Marcus Jensen 5pts @ElVPresidente @Marcus Jensen Command is about location not BB rates. Wheeler has the more pinpoint control. Marcus Jensen 5pts @dexx @Marcus Jensen That's like saying Cain is better than Lincecum. No way. Marcus Jensen 5pts @dexx @Marcus Jensen No he doesn't. Wheeler does. Marcus Jensen 5pts @Andrew Wharton @Marcus Jensen I disagree. I see a lot of mechanical inconsistencies. Similar to Josh Johnson. I see him as a typical injury prone power pitcher. Marcus Jensen 5pts @Christopher Soto @Marcus Jensen I saw him pitch in Binghamton. He was wild. Not good command. Fastballs to the backstop he was trying to locate up in the zone. Wheeler's command is much better. He'll miss his location slightly. Syndergaard misses it by feet sometimes. Andrew Wharton 5pts @Mike @Marcus Jensen Wheeler's biggest issue is keeping his head still. He has a tendency to tilt it towards first base, which can allow him to open up too soon. Cliff Lee is the perfect example of keeping your head completely focused on the catcher. Marcus Jensen 5pts @Mike @Marcus Jensen BB rate has little to do with command. Syndergaard's command isn't very good. He can overpower A and AA with his fastball but isn't close to being able to locate it. ML hitters wont be fooled. Marcus Jensen 5pts @Calamity Francis That's because you're one of life's many underlings. Macacawitz 5pts @yankeehater @dexx @Mike @AJF or a thousand guys who thought they could and aren't Nolan Ryan. Mr. SERCH 5pts @Bob Wolfe @7up17togo @dexx @Mike @AJF Or Kerry Wood...oh wait.. Bob Wolfe 5pts @7up17togo @dexx @Mike @AJF Or Bob Gibson or Tom Seaver. yankeehater 5pts @dexx @Mike @AJF Don't tell Nolan Ryan mfnlu69 5pts @Marcus Jensen @ElVPresidente pretty sure command is judged on a low BB rate...not from what you saw in one start.4.1 BB/9 is not pinpoint control Zack Arenstein 5pts @Marcus Jensen @dexx um, what? Bo Beck 5pts @Marcus Jensen Have to say your wrong, hitters in A and AA look fastball which is why most have to adjust to off speed pitches. And Harveys fastball seems to give people problems. And what made Randy Johnson a 300 game pitcher was his lack of control. Marcus Jensen 5pts @gameball @Marcus Jensen @Christopher Soto Not hard for a power pitcher with decent control to dominate AA batters. gameball 5pts @Marcus Jensen@Christopher Soto Kid dominated the Eastern League at age 20. He's a stud. Andrew Wharton 5pts @Marcus Jensen @Christopher Soto Was that the only time you saw him pitch? Could've been an off night. At 20 years old, consistency isn't to be expected. Gabriel Luna 5pts @Marcus JensenYou sir, are sinking. airfeet 5pts @Marcus Jensen No pitchers have perfect command of their fastball at age 20. That's why he's in AA right now..
