Off topic, so I'm listening to the Yankee game because it's baseball until the Mets start, Brian McCann hits a home run. The question is, does John Sterling have a wife, a close friend, or any family member that cares about him enough to tell him what a complete jack@ss he sounds like when he makes those calls? I mean come on, I feel embarrassed just from hearing it and I'm not the one doing it on live radio.

6) Ownership, despite all its talk, has no intention to make any mid season upgrades.

When you look at the starting lineup tonight and how the season has gone so far I think we finally have a .500 or so team. The biggest concern is the middle of the lineup and the ss position. I'm not throwing in the towel on Granderson yet and think he can be a solid 6 hitter. We just need more pop in this lineup desperately. With our pitching we could win 90-100 games with a slightly above average lineup.

Pretty much, we need to add a cleanup and a 3 or 5 caliber hitter to this lineup. It's a shame we signed Colon to a two year deal, as deGrom clearly deserves a spot in this rotation. Big start for Wheeler tonight. He needs to go deeper in games.

SOUND SMART:  The Las Vegas team drives in three times as many runs per game as the big club.  Andrew Brown is destroying AAA pitching.  Dykstra, Lutz, and Campbell are all hovering around .350.   And Wilmer Flores inexplicably did not start for the second time in a week, after playing every inning of every game, before his jammed finger.  After the injury, he played 1B and went 2-5 with a double and 2 RBI, so he's not hurt.  What gives?

Sound smart? This is Jeff Wilpon's team, you know.

As for point #4, wouldn't you expect almost any team to score more runs in the first half of games than the second half, given that most of the time, a winning home team doesn't even bat in the 9th inning?

More runs early, lately???? Is that it? Does circle get the square?

"they’ve allowed more runs late early."  What the hell does that mean?

"However, they’ve allowed more runs late early."

If I said that to someone they would not think I Sounded Smart™.

In reference to number 4. Where's the gatekeeper? Where's young Andrew V?

We did a whole series worth of bad stuff in one game last night.  Now that all of that is behind us, and we got some sleep, lets win the next three games in Denver!!!

Is late early the 5th inning?

"However, they’ve allowed more runs late early."  This is not how I want to sound smart, thankyouverymuch.

If I'm supposed to "sound smart", can you help me by fixing number 4?

@Michelle Sparno  You have to pay for Quality. Mets 27th after Ike trade in MLB payroll, and STILL won't spend.

@Jaime  He has cotinued his decline this year because the word is out, pitch him inside, and as Keith said last nite, he does not understand why Wright still won't make an adjustment to it into this new season.

@Jason Krull  Of course not. They say that every year, but NEVER get anyone. Just another LIE to sell tickets.

Where can they play Brown?

@Victor Triguero I wouldn't be surprised if the Mets probably lost John Franco's e-mail address.

That's what we're all trying to figure out. I could take a stab at it, but I'd rather not get a headache.

@7up17_2go  Landing at 4am didn't help. Should be good weather rest of this series.

@jlga  Seems that after a decade of barely being able to field a full outfield, we now have a surplus.  Time to deal.

Yes. He was born to a rich father. That took a lot of smarts.

@Steven Matregrano @skillsets  Fred did something.  Little Jeffrey was born into money.

Maybe Fred was born into wealth too for that matter?

@jlga  Trade Brown while his value is high'ish

But who? Lagarres is a rookie and who's going to trade for Granderson? Chris Young is gone after this year, but Eric Young is a favorite of Terry Collins.

And, other than Lagarres none of them can hit.

@chasesimms Fred Wilpon made his bones. His father was an undertaker. True. Jeffrey's the spoiled brat numbskull son. Unlike Dolan situation, where the Knicks and Rangers owner actually runs several companies, Fredo Wilpon's never earned an honest dollar in his life. Barely a high school graduate.
