Dillon Gee

Sound Smart: 4 things to know before tonight’s Mets-Angels game

1) The Mets went 10-7 against the American League last year. The last time the Mets faced the Angels was in 2011 when they lost two of three at Citi Field.

2) Thursday in Atlanta, Eric Young, Jr. became the first player in team history to score four or more runs, collect three or more hits and steal three or more bases in the same game.

3) The Mets bullpen has tossed 14 scoreless innings during the last five games.

4) In his last 19 starts, dating back to last season, Dillon Gee has lasted at least six innings, while going 7-4 with a 2.93 ERA.

Doing my best Steve Carell impression: "Sound Smart, you do NOT!"

Why'll it works out to have Duda AND Davis for this series, the insidious DH creeping into the NL and how it just happens to fit this situation for us is creepy stuff. Preserve the NL's identity MLB.

5+ hours until first pitch (ugh)   Since it's the free game of the day, I think I'm going to take a look at Pit/Milw.  See if Milwaukee's hype is worthy..What's my alternative?  Watching Yanks/Sawx?  not likely.

Why did we sign Chris Young?

@cmetsfan Actually, it doesn't work out for this series.  Two of the three LA starters are left handed.  So they will either not play or play but put us at a disadvantage because of their terrible numbers against lefties.

@tw22  He might have value in trade come the deadline, in addition to many of the acquisitions.

@tw22  I don't know, I hope Alderson will be right about him, if he wins that signing that will mean good things
