Shaun Marcum has nerve inflammation in neck, day-to-day

Shaun Marcum 1 polaroidShaum Marcum was diagnosed with nerve inflammation in his neck at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York today, according to the team’s beat reporters on Twitter.

Marcum received “trigger-point injections” in his neck and will now rest for 48 hours – he is listed as day-to-day and will return to Port St. Lucie.

Marcum is on the 15-day disabled list with biceps tendinitis, retroactive to March 22. Terry Collins told reporters on Wednesday he is unlikely to make his scheduled start on Sunday when he’s eligible to return from the disabled list.
