The Rockies have traded OF Dexter Fowler and a player to be named later to the Astros for RHP Jordan Lyles and OF Brandon Barnes.

This has been a very bizarre day. There’s been a ton of activity, and all lopsided. The Astros got a steal here. I really can’t believe the Mets — or most other teams in need of an outfielder — couldn’t put together a better deal than this. The same goes for some of the other deals to go down today… I can only hope Sandy Alderson and other GMs are holding out for other, better options that are being worked on? Or, maybe what other teams offered didn’t free up as much money as Houston could? Otherwise, MLB should look in to the integrity of these trades, because they’re seemingly unfair. Or maybe I’m just a sore sport, growing more and more frustrated by the day?
Nov. 14: The Rockies say Troy Tulowitzki, Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Cuddyer are unavailable in trade, but they have talked to teams about Fowler (Heyman).
Oct. 28: The Mets, Braves and other teams have inquired about Fowler during previous off-seasons, but the price to acquire him was always too high (Cerrone).
