Scott Rice fires

Scott Rice unavailable with back issue

Scott Rice will likely not be available out of the bullpen on Wednesday due to a back issue, Terry Collins said.

The issue held him out of Tuesday night’s game as well.

This season, Rice has appeared in 16 games — 7 1/3 innings pitched — and has a 6.14 ERA and 1.500 WHIP, though over his last 10 appearances — 4 2/3 innings — he’s allowed just one earned run.

Wow what a shock Torres and Rice are both out with injured backs after carrying this terrible bullpen on them by pitching in almost every close game the 1st month.

I guess Wheeler is going to have to take 1 for the team this afternoon whether he's pitching well or not as they couldn't even get another arm from Vegas to Fla in time for a 12:40pm game

Also like to note that EVERY bullpen gets run into the ground and relief pitchers are like interchangeable parts with only a couple guys who actually stay healthy and on the big club for an entire year.

Would like to note that Rice didnt pitch for a week until his outing in the last game in the Colorado series.

Good Job TC! You are running this bullpen to the ground and we are not even half way into the season.

Oh no who will Terry Collins bring in to pitch to a left handed hitter. I love the Mets and this team needs new ownership, general manager and manager to ever hope to be good. It's a sad state this team is in.

More trouble then he is worth.  He can't pitch and he's hurt...  It shouldn't be that hard to find a replacement.

Era is great, still walks too many, but he does need to come up

@D Scott Rice didnt pitch for a week and this has nothing to do with his arm.
