Red Sox probably won’t offer more than two years to retain Drew

Stephen Drew 1 polaroidThe Red Sox aren’t likely to offer SS Stephen Drew more than a two-year contract (Cafardo, Nov. 10).

Scott Boras has set up meetings about Drew for Tuesday at this week’s GM Meetings, indicating he’s unlikely to accept his $14.1 million qualifying offer from the Red Sox by tomorrow’s deadline (Gammons, Nov. 7).

The Cardinals could have interest in Drew (Post-Dispatch, Nov. 3).

Drew could end up signing a three- or four-year deal worth around $12 million a season (Sherman, Oct. 28).
