Anthony Recker behind the plate

Recker taken for X-Rays on hand

Mets C Anthony Recker is scheduled to have x-rays of his right hand Saturday’s game (ESPN. June 28).

He was hit with foul ball on his right hand, though he stayed in the game.

Recker told reporters he expects to be fine.

The Mets players are very fragile

of course Recker says he is fine, he will be so far back towards the end of the catching totem pole. Travis, has hit the ground running since his return from triple A, and Plawecki is running things at triple A, who ever gets demoted to triple A would be second fiddle to Plawecki, hence the reason why Teagarden would probably never report to triple A if demoted, he would more than likely just opt out and become a free agent

So who would backup d'Arnaud if Recker has to go on the DL? I guess whoever is backing up Pluwecki in AAA now?

That's why you don't release Teagarden.

Say what you will about Recker, but the dude is tough as nails.

@robby "Recker told reporters he expects to be fine." That DOES sound fragile.

@fatherflot  Yeah but they put him on the DL so if Recker is hurt they still won't be able to bring Teagarden back for like another 10 days

I like Recker on this team. Most backup catchers can't hit. They're backups.
