The Giants knocked off the Mets 6-4 on Sunday at AT&T Park to sweep their three-game series.
Need to Know: The Mets dropped their sixth straight game to the Giants as Zack Wheeler (2-6) took the loss. The Mets, who sat David Wright out of the lineup, got three hits from Daniel Murphy and three hits and two home runs from Curtis Granderson. The rest of the Mets lineup managed only three hits and was 3 of 26 in the loss. Tim Lincecum picked up the win for the Giants to improve to 5-4 on the season. The Mets, trailing 5-3 in the eighth, pushed across a run when Daniel Murphy scored on a wild pitch and Granderson moving up to third. Chris Young popped out to end the inning with Granderson, the tying run, on third. San Francisco tacked on a run in its half of the eighth in a Brandon Hicks RBI single off Mets reliever Vic Black.In the ninth, the Lucas Duda walked to lead off the inning, but Sergio Romo came on in relief and got the final three outs for his 20th save for the Giants. Wheeler had an odd game, he lasted only 3.2 innings and allowed six hits, two walks and four runs but struck out six. His ERA is now 4.19.

What’s next: The Mets are off on Monday and will head back to the East Coast for a series that starts on Tuesday with the Brewers at Citi Field.
