Zack Wheeler has slight inflammation in shoulder, will miss one start

Zack Wheeler has slight inflammation in the AC joint in his shoulder, and he will miss one start, assistant GM John Ricco told reporters today.

Wheeler received a cortisone shot in his shoulder and is flying to rejoin Triple-A Las Vegas.

4:25 p.m: Wheeler has no structural damage in his right clavicle, his agent said, according to Jorge Castillo of The Star-Ledger.

6:06 pm: Well you’d rather not have any injury, this was about as good as you can get from this sort of issue. Wheeler has a little bit of a problem at the AC joint, which should be cleared up. The big worry is impingement, but catching this early is a good chance to figure out what the real causes picture that he’s healthy long-term.
