I think this is Outstanding! Every other MLB team has a Fan Fest. Glad the @Mets will have a Quasi-FanFest created thru the grassroots efforts of the @metspolice! Just a shame that Mets Brass is so out of touch with its fan base!

It's a shame that the Wilpon's and their BS ways have made a nice thing like this something that gets shots taken at it. Good luck fellas.

I for one, am ALL for baseball in Queens.  Not so much the Wilpons being in charge of it.

I'll go if the Metsblog staff is in the dunking booth.

Why don't we all give $35 each to the Wilpons charity fund so we can get a real shortstop!  Our payroll is only about 78 million, 140million less than the 2013 Yankees!!! A lousy 78 million, and we can't even sign JD Drew, what a damn disgrace.

Loads of female baseball fans don't need to be brought by their husbands. Rather sexist in this day and age, you know.

@Chris Crosser Thanks Chris.  I will say that the Mets have been very supportive and will have a presence at the event.  And there's a bunch of folks like Darren (The 7 Line) and Greg Prince (Faith and Fear) who are quietly doing a bunch of work on this.  Should be fun!

@mojorisin The autograph session is built into the ticket - and everyone who has ever worked with Ron tells me he is awesome in person.

"Bring the kiddies, bring the wife, guaranteed to have the time of your life." Normally I would agree with you but they're just referencing the famous Mets song.

The jingle was written in 1962. We have evolved in 51 years.

@Wendy Shotsky I have the record still in mint condition and that jingle is on my phone. It's the only thing that gets me ready for opening day but sad to say it ain't shea.

@Wendy Shotsky  "The Mets are really sockin’ the ball, Knockin’ those home runs over the wall”

I loved the song growing up, but I agree it hasn't aged well. What the hell is this about the Mets sockin' the ball and hitting home runs?
