Pre-Game: Mets vs. Pirates

The Mets open a three game series tonight against the Pirates at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Game time is 7:05 pm.

The lineup is as follows:

1. Jose Reyes – SS
2. Angel Pagan – LF
3. Carlos Beltran – CF
4. Chris Carter – RF
5. David Wright – 3B
6. Ike Davis – 1B
7. Josh Thole – C
8. Ruben Tejada – 2B

Mike Pelfrey (11-7, 3.95 ERA) will start for the Mets. Pelfrey has allowed just three earned runs in his last 14 innings, although he’s got just one win to show for it and has just one win since June 25. Pelfrey has made two career starts against the Pirates and he’s 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA against them.

Jeff Karstens (2-9, 4.57 ERA) will start for the Pirates. Karstens has lost six of his last seven starts and is looking for his first win since June 19. Karstens is making his third start and fourth career appearance against the Mets tonight, and he’s 0-1 with a 5.27 ERA against them.


honestly who cares the season over williams could rush 1000 yards in the nxt few games we suck no playoffs thats the bottom-line

Until he does it again against a real NFL team I'll believe what I've seen of Andre Williams in every other game over what I saw yesterday against that disaster of an opponent. Basically every other game he's been awful. And even yesterday if you take out the 50yd TD run he only had 81yds on 23 carries with no scores which is not that great given the competition.


@Brian Webster First, you can't judge a performance by how many time he scores.  When there is a pass play, how would you like him to score on a run?  Second, be honest, the Giants O-Line is awful.  Can't really blame his previous games entirely on him when the O-Line is made of swiss cheese and the defense is through the line as he first touches the ball.  Last, you can't use *if*.  If didn't happen.  He did get the 50 yard run.
