Sandy Alderson told reporters LHP Pedro Feliciano has returned to New York for a follow-up to his physical he underwent last week in Spring Training.
Alderson didn’t say specifically what the problem was, although he said the issue is not orthopedic related.
Feliciano, 36, led the majors in appearances from 2008-2010, making 266 appearances, all with the Mets.
Feliciano has held lefties to a .214 opposing average in his career and is 22-19 with a 3.31 ERA in 459 appearances over eight big league seasons. He has not pitched in the Major Leagues since he left the Mets after the 2010 season after battling shoulder problems.
