Bobby Parnell is pleased with his progress after Tommy John surgery and expects to be ready for spring training (NJ.com, Sept. 3).
Parnell, named the Mets closer before the season only to get hurt on Opening Day, was in the Mets clubhouse during their series in Miami. Parnell is doing his rehab in Port St. Lucie.
Parnell told NJ.com he is throwing from 60 feet and will move to 75 feet next week. He is not scheduled to throw off a mound until after Christmas.
“I’ve had no setbacks,” he told NJ.com. “The arm feels great.”
