Oliver Perez talked to reporters this morning from his locker in St. Lucie.
According to SNY producer Matt Dunn, Perez said he hasn’t yet talked to Sandy Alderson or Terry Collins, and, though he wants to be a starting pitcher, he will do whatever is best for team.
“That’s why I am here,” he explained.
“But I have to do whatever is good for the team. If they need me in bullpen for 1 out, long reliever or starter, I’m ready for everything.”
In the end he said he’s still still young, just 29 years old, he has a long way to go and he’s not going to give up.
“In my mind I feel strong,” he concluded.
