Noah Syndergaard 8

Noah Syndergaard on track to reenter Las Vegas rotation on June 5

Triple-A RHP Noah Syndergaard, currently on the disabled list with a mild flexor-pronator strain in his right elbow, has been long-tossing and is expected to rejoin the Las Vegas rotation on June 5 (Puma, May 30).

After flying to New York on Monday and getting a clean bill of health, Syndergaard was prescribed rest and shoulder strengthening exercises.

In 10 games pitched this season for Las Vegas, Syndergaard has a 4.02 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 53 2/3 innings pitched. He’s allowed 59 hits, walked 19, and struck out 57.

Funny how the story of Wally getting into this. kid's head about becoming more "aggressive" got lost. Hopefully Backman will leave Noah alone and leave it up to Viola.

He'll be starting for the Mets in a few weeks. Can't wait to see him.

If the mets push him into a TJ outcome by next year, at least maybe Harvey and or Hefner can pick up the slack by then.

Mets need to keep a better eye on pitchers like this.

Easy does it. This is a valuable arm and prudence is dictated. We don't want another pitcher down with Tommy John surgery. Let him strengthen his shoulder and arm, so what if he doesn't com up to the big leagues until September or even 2015. The main thing is that he be healthy and productive for  the Mets.

@mets1973 I don't know if a prolonged Vegas stint would help or hinder his development. He's a big guy and that's big heat.
