Niese and Colon play catch

Jon Niese and Bartolo Colon threw to each other down the left field line of Tradition Field on Saturday morning.

Bullpen coach Ricky Bones watched the two pitchers throw.

Colon is working back from a slight calf strain and Niese was throwing for the first time since having an MRI on his shoulder for “dead arm” and pain in his triceps.

Anthony Seratelli????? The Mets management has gone past getting "old has beens", and is now considering fielding "never was" as backups for Tejada.  Well...whatever makes Tejada look good.

Preparing for another lost season.  Ugh.

Seratelli sounds much better than Tejada.  That would be cool if we don't sign someone else for him to steal the job.  Of course he could wind up another Brad Emaus.

Both Niese and colon had injury issues. Niese's problem was serious enough so that he had to fly to NY to be checked out. Colon had a tweak, and at his age he has to be watched carefully. If the sarcasm I see on this blog is any indication of your ignorance of baseball, then go watch some other sport or better yet go pollute some other blog.

nice to know that Niese who many a doom and gloomier here wrote off as on his way to career ending Capsule Surgery is out there chucking again, and with a 90 year old guy who nearly won the Cy young last year.  I'll take it, thank you

@getalife Brad Emaus?  This guy is more like a Colin Cowgill that never made it to the majors.  Watch, they'll slap a 6 on his back and say he looks like Wally Backman.

Actually it's better since the haters left.

@Ken Thall @flmetsfanNot whining dude.  But at this rate, the Mets will be the Cubs.  Perhaps they can find the Hansen brothers to play while they're at it.

If Anthony Seratelli gets you excited because he played organized baseball within 50 miles of your house, then I'm happy for you.
