News: Jesus Feliciano Expects to be Promoted Soon

According to El Nuevo Dia, Triple-A Bisons OF Jesus Feliciano may soon be promoted to the Mets.

Feliciano’s agent said he recently talked to Omar Minaya, who said the move would occur this week.

…very, very interesting… the Mets will activate Jon Niese on Saturday… there is a chance they also put Luis Castillo on the disabled list… Ruben Tejada or Justin Turner will likely replace castillo, not feliciano… so, if feliciano is promoted, does this finally mean the end of Gary Matthews Jr., or perhaps Chris Carter will be demoted, so he can more at bats

The 30–year-old Feliciano is hitting .395 with a .444 OBP, one HR, 11 doubles and 17 RBI in 48 games for Buffalo, while striking out just 15 times, during which he has played right and center field.

He was signed by the Mets as a free agent on Feb. 1, 2007.

He was initially drafted by the Dodgers in the 36th round in 1997, and has since played for the Nationals and Rays, though he’s never had a major-league at bat.
