News: Jenrry Mejia Dominant for Double-A Binghamton

Last night for Double-A Binghamton, Jenrry Mejia went 4 1/3 innings and allowed three hits and two walks while striking out four with his velocity consistently in the upper 90′s.

Mike Silva from New York Baseball Digest was in attendance to watch Mejia last night, and after the game, Silva asked him how his big league experience has helped him and Mejia told Silva Francisco Rodriguez helped him with the mental side of pitching.

Given Mejia’s injury after being demoted from the Mets, I wonder whether or not we will see him in the Mets starting rotation come September if the Mets are out of their playoff races, and I have to wonder what his status will be as a starting pitcher come next season – still, it’s exciting to find out his arm problems are behind him and he is on the course which I feel he should have been on since day one, which is as a starting pitcher.
