Murphy to undergo MRI for ailing calf

According to Sandy Alderson, Daniel Murphy is set to undergo an MRI for his injured calf.

Murphy has been out since leaving Sunday’s game with a calf strain.

Alderson hinted on Thursday that a DL stint is possible for Murphy.

Murph is going to be dressed and on the bench so why not say he's not ready to start but is available to pinch hit? Keep that in the braves minds for late in the game. He might not be able to pinch hit but you can still use him as a decoy. Why does terry think this is football and he has to give injury reports to the opposition?

If you take away our first 45 games with Farnesworth and old bullpen and replace with current bullpen...Ten more wins right there...

If you convert 7 or of our loses to wins we make the playoffs most likely, Thanks Terry, David and Rueban.

Hopefully Wilma is productive during the 7th-9th innings tonight. Weak popup to 1st base in the 7th last night with two runners on and only 1 out. Thankfully he manged to get the bunt down in the 9th, but it didn't amount to anything. Clutch he's not. Need Murph back quickly!

2 hours till game time and still no lineup...I think he's letting Recker play 3rd base...and catch lightning in a bottle...

Why does it take Collins so long to post lineup??

Think TC's idea of holding vets out of early ST games a misguided and incomplete strategy. This is same injury Murph had in spring. TC needs to do what others do - rest vets before off day, no day game after night game especially if night game goes to extras. Get them off field early in blow-outs. Most players over or near 30 don't play every inning of every game. Would keep bench players sharper as well.

Hopefully Flores is back at 2nd again and hopefully Terry doesn't call for him to bunt again in the late innings so Tejada can "drive" in a run.

Flores looks better playing at 2nd...than Murphy

Well, what did the doctor say (other than "hello Daniel")? Oh, we shouldn't ask that? OK.... suffice to say he saw a doctor.

Fine. Try out Flores out second.

@saxon If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. You can play that game all day. If they would've won just three more of their extra inning games....

@mets74

Remember your statement today about Flores not being Clutch and next year wherever Flo is, he will be called Mr Clutch...

@Paul LeBarron Your take sounds like a conspiracy theory, but it also sounds like it's true.

@simbad Have you been watching the past few games?  Where do you think Flores has been playing since Murphy has been out?

@Matt Drucker

I'll buy that

@fhc1224 @simbad No. I doubt he has been watching.  There are a ton of commenters on here that don't watch the games and still voice their opinions as if they know what's best for the team.

@11gilkey @fhc1224 @simbad  I think it's true that fewer fans, some of whom are commenters, are watching games -- but I also think it's true that some of these commenters do know what's best for the team, and that's why they're not watching games.

@bromancer @11gilkey @fhc1224 @simbad The way fans knee-jerkingly look for the bad and always aim to criticize is alarming.  It makes me feel icky about being one of them.  I was at a game last month and looked around trying to figure out who were the miserable people who love to hate the team they follow.
