The Mets lost to the Giants last night – and here is a shot of the crowd:
The two teams complete their three-game series today at 1:10 pm.
Yesterday, Comcast SportsNet in San Francisco said the Giants have interest in Jose Reyes. “However, the Mets are not engaged in talks with San Francisco or any other teams about Reyes because it’s early in the season,” the New York Post reports today, citing a source familiar with the situation.
Giants GM Brian Sabean later told ESPN he has not talked to Sandy Alderson or anyone from the Mets since the season started.
Well, to be fair to the original report, it never said the two teams talked or a deal was close. It simply said the Giants were interested and discussing a possible acquisition, which I’m sure can be said for lots of teams.
In case you missed it, Terry Collins told WFAN and the team’s reporters yesterday that Josh Thole will also get today off as he continues to work with John Debus on improving his game behind the plate. According to Collins, Thole is trying to do too much, he’s working in practice and he expects to see improvements going forward.
Ronny Paulino started Wednesday and had two hits.
“Confidence is not an issue at all,” Thole later said, according to the Daily News. “I have played enough games in the major leagues where I know I’ll be fine.”
Speaking of Thole, he communicates with his dog using sign language.
By the way, at what point is it not early…
