The Mets will honor Shea Stadium’s opening 50 years ago with 1960s-era ticket prices for the April 18-20 series against the Braves.
A limited number of tickets will cost $3.50, the price of a box seat when the stadium opened in 1964. They will also offer box seats tickets for the price of $19.64.

Shea Stadium was named after William A. Shea, the attorney who was the driving force in bringing a National League team back to New York City. The Mets called Shea home from 1964-2008, and captured the franchise’s two world championships in 1969 and 1986 at the stadium.
