Mets to play AL East next year

The official 2015 schedule hasn’t been announced yet, but in the version that’s currently circulating as teams review it, the Mets will play the AL East in interleague play next season (ESPN, July 22).

The Mets will play the Yankees six times, not four and the Red Sox will come to Queens in August for a three-game series.

These details are subject to change before the 2015 schedule is officially released.

I wouldn't mind if they go on the road to Baltimore or Toronto as long as it is a weekend. Would be a nice summer road trip.

Why are there so many Met fans in Florida?

They've been to Boston the last two times they've played them.

Damn. Been hoping the Mets would play in Boston next year. Bummed they may not be. (I live up here).

Ugh.  So tired of interleague play, and espcially very much over 6 games vs the Yankees.  Let's go back to the way it was.

Hopefully the series against the Rays is in Tampa and before the All Star Break while I am still living in Florida!

Wait, the Mets aren't going to Fenway as well? That sucks. Oh well.

Good thing we play the Dark Side 6 times, but I was hoping I could take a trip to Fenway next year

Interleague play should never occur in AL stadiums as long as the dopey DH is around. It's an inherent advantage for the AL, and that shows by the AL's historical success. Most interleague DH's in the NL don't even belong on a big league roster, while AL team's often construct their roster around DH's. So no, I don't like interleague play.

I HATE playing the Yankees.  So many Yankee fans, in my face, whenever the Yankees beat us.  When we beat them, they are no where to be seen! What do you call that?

Wish we went up to Boston instead. Would give me a reason to finally check out Fenway. And possible 7 Line outing.

That's great if ALL the NL East plays the AL East.

Does that mean I get to watch José play again at Citifield?

@Nathan Kerr unforunately not going to happen.  Tampa is going to be a 3 game road series.  Toronto and Baltimore will be home and home series.  Both midweek.  One will be setup like the Subway series the past few seasons where it's Monday-Thursday, 2 days in NY, the other 2 on the road.  The other will be a midweek series set up like the A's-Mets series this season.

You know if they do, Dickey will no-hit us with Reyes hitting the game-winning home run to break a scoreless tie in the ninth :-P

Actually would rather mets go to Toronto. Gives me yet another excuse to go to Toronto :).

@alanduda But the best Mets/Sox match up was in 1986.

@For_Sale The AL East isn't that good. You know that right? And by next year we'll be even better. Bring it on.

@dannym28 @owlnut But they don't have to play the Yankees 3 more times. Everyone should get equal # of games per team.

@Jay Cross And we would have Thor winning Cy Youngs and TdA winning batting titles for years to come. :)

@The Feels band @For_Sale The AL East is good, I don't know what you have been watching.  3 team in the top 7 of the AL and they dont get to play the Astros to pad their records. Pretty good in my book.
