Mets sign DJ Mitchell

The Mets have signed RHP DJ Mitchell, according to the team’s farm report Twitter account.

Mitchell appeared in four games with the Yankees last season, posting a 3.86 ERA and 2.143 WHIP before being traded to the Seattle Mariners for Ichiro Suzuki.

In four seasons at Triple-A, Mitchell has posted a 3.72 ERA and 1.322 WHIP in 50 starts. He’s struck out 6.7 per 9 inning, with a 1.88 strikeout to walk ratio.

Mitchell was designated for assignment by the Mariners and elected free agency after clearing waivers on April 13.
