The Mets plan to keep Travis d’Arnaud in the big leagues and give him significant playing time once John Buck returns from paternity leave, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.
The Mets recalled d’Arnaud and placed Buck on the paternity list before Saturday’s game against the Padres. It was previously reported that d’Arnaud would get sent back to Triple-A once Buck returned.
Buck must be reinstated before the start of Tuesday’s game against the Braves at Citi Field.

Originally, the Mets planned to send d’Arnaud back to Las Vegas when Buck came back. If what Rosenthal is reporting is accurate, I’m glad they had a change of heart and are keeping him here.
This probably means the Mets will be demoting Anthony Recker to Las Vegas. If they do that and don’t DFA him, I bet he’s back on September 1 when rosters expand.
