Mets move Banner Day to May 11 against the Pirates

Earlier this month, ESPN released it’s Sunday Night Baseball schedule, which includes the Mets and Braves for Sunday, May 26.

The Mets held a vote online to re-schedule Banner Day at Citi Field. The choices were to keep the original date, Saturday, May 11 against the Pirates at 1:10 pm, or Saturday, June 8 against the Marlins at 1:10 pm.

The Mets announced the fans voted to move Banner Day to May 11.

This is good news. This will allow more fans to come to the park and participate in the event. I feared there would be a low turnout if it was to be held on it’s original date which in turn could have had an impact on the future of the event.
