Mets Links for Friday, Sept. 21

Bill Price of the Daily News explains why everyone not named Matt Harvey should be off this team, including the manager.

Tim Wakefield and Phil Niekro really, really want RA Dickey to win the Cy Young Award, obviously, they tell the New York Post.

In a write up for New York Magazine, Will Leitch points out that Matt Harvey’s final start of the year was fitting for the team he plays on.

Next season, Jon Niese intends to build off his 2012 success, Mike Kerwick explains in the Bergen Record.

“Down the road, if they feel like they can get a few better pieces to help this ballclub and trade me away, that’s more power to them,” Niese tells Kerwick. “But obviously when I’m here, I’m doing everything I can to help this ballclub.”

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, “The Marlins are planning to fire president and team architect Larry Beinfest, perhaps as soon as next week.”
