Baseball is a game of inches....we are not a foot away, just e few inches...all it takes is all of the bats to stay alive and we will begin to win...the difference in most games is a play that is made or not made.....payroll is a part of it, but so many bloated payroll teams do not do any better than the small payroll teams like the A's.  The stats this year are interesting as most teams are within a few games of each other.......the rollercoaster of baseball is very fascinating....it is a cyclical game...

I'm not sue lack of spending, low payroll is a factor. Other teams w/ similar budget have done much better than the Mets..So it falls largely to find, and  develop talent(pitching excluded)..

Our Patience with the young guys is starting to pay off! We have 2 high priced vets who need to heal or get it going, otherwise we will have to replace them!

You can't say the players aren't trying when they pounded out 12 hits. Yet they managed only 4 runs thanks largely to the 0 for 5 performances displayed by Wright and Granderson. Shame that the youngsters don't have the backup bats that might have pulled the game out for them, but then the pitching let them down as well. This ship has sprung so many leaks that it's headed for the bottom. All that's left is a better draft pick as a reward.

Mets are still on pace to lose 74 games again for three seasons in a row....no improvement at all but everyone gets a pass...its ok to not see some type of increase in win total..because we have no money or talent. Overachieving or getting the best out of your team is not on menu right now..

No accountability at all...The Wilpons are just like

"keep the payroll low until our finances are better Sandy...then you can ride off into the sunset of retirement"

A huge LF bat and a solid ss are more then cosmetic issues. There's a good base here and I see the light at the end...will they let us get there?
