I have a trade that is perfect for yankees and mets.Mets trade murphy and duda to yankees for gardner wells and phelps. This would give yankees a 2b and power lh bat off the bench. The mets will be able to move young to 2b get a llegitimate cf/ leadoff guy in gardner. Wells is gd rh power bat off the bench and phelps is a quality 5th starter who will excel in citi field and the national league

OMG. This guy works so dam hard. Leave him the hell alone. Also take this in account. Nobody and I mean nobody sports a porn mustache like Murphy.

You could bring 3-4 power hitters in here, and with our media and ravenous fans, it could be a struggle. With Murphy, you have an idea of what he can do(in a lineup that isn't too good yet) in a tough park.

i disagree murphy may have a decent average but hes an awful fielder and he desn't get RBI's. He makes the mets a worse team... the mets need a good middle infielder converting jeurys famillia to a pitcher was not a smart move he should have stayed being a shortstop

They tried this a few years ago with another player, NOT good move.

I'm getting sick of baseball...PERIOD. Outrageous salaries. Nobody is worth that kind of money. BOYCOTT and turn these stadiums into GHOST TOWNS.

Who is going to trade power for Daniel Murphy? I like the guy, kinda hope they keep him, but I don't see it other teams giving up much for him.

I have gotten used to Murphy but if you can get a better quality player, then I'm game. Chris Young doesn't excite me @ all,

No Way !!! I rather Mets keep D. Murphy and move to 1B. He 's good hitter.

Yes. Trade one of the good players. Smoooooooth. This organization is ska-rewed!

We can only hope. He is a one dimensional player who has the most value as a Designated Hitter. I'd love to see them trade him to Seattle for Franklin and another prospect. Murphy is a defensive liability who has almost no true, baseball instinct. He costs the team as many runs in the field and on the basepaths as he drives in at the plate.

Take a look at Murphy's fielding. Baseball is more than hitting. We need better fielding to keep the other teams from scoring.

What do I know ...apparently not enough but I think this would be dumb. Murphy can hit and has gotten much better at 2nd. Granderson and Murph would make a nice 1-2 punch!!

How frigging stupid would that be? This GM annoys the crap outta me.

You have plenty of good guys and pithers in 2a training camp. Keep murf and ike and the 12 million to bring these young guys up in the spring

William Kinsley

why not......im sure there are more 200 hitters out there we can sign......murph is one of the last hittters we have...KEEP HIM

Ha ha ha. Baron`s childish paragraph was removed from this post by the adult that runs this site presumably. Good deal. It perplexes me why this goofball is allowed to have a say on this blog.

I'd be interested in trading for Kemp if the situation is right. If the Dodgers wanted to cover a portion of the salary and not ask for too much prospectwise, I'd be down. I'd only consider Syndergaard and Wheeler off limits.

I would take Andres gallaragga or Julio Franco right now

What is this love affair that Alderson has w/Eric Young Jr? He's a .250 hitter. He's nothing but a sub. Trade Murph, cash, & a prospect to AZ for 2B Aaron Hill & SS Didi Gregorius. Alderson hasn't done crap yet, bringing in 2 more mediocrities to that putrid OF. Still need a 1B, SS, SP, & bullpen.

DO NOT TRADE MURPHY, HE'S A GREAT PLAYER WITH ALOT OF HEART !!!!  IF HE GETS TRADED WILL NOT BE ATTENDING ANYMORE METS GAMES & ALL MY METS MEMORABILIA GOES OUT THE WINDOW !!!!!!!!!! MURPHY IS OUR MAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I would love to see Ike and Duda traded, they are essentially dead weight IMO (without a doubt especially Ike) that the Mets are going to have an extremely difficult time unloading on someone. Could be costly. The Mets certainly can't afford to keep them though... But trading Murphy is beyond ridiculous, unless you include him in a package with Ike and Duda for 2 superstars, which just isn't going to happen. The Mets would have to give up a prospect to make that trade as well...

This guy is a gamer, hard to find ball players with his demeanor. Just sign Drew, stop being cheap Mr. Coupon.

Other that DWright, the Mets only proven offensive player with a decent OBP and they want to get rid of him. My advice? Find someone who's halfway decent at Fantasy Baseball and you have a better G

Marc Seldin
Marc Seldin

They might..but usually, the Mets just sit pat..."watching" lol..to see what the other teams are doing (playing it as if they trying to get an upper hand) LOL.only to go into April with guys like Andres Gallarragga and Julio Franco

The Dodgers are in win-now mode and are in need of both a 2B and a 3B. Other than Omar Infante, Murphy is better than any 2B or 3B on the FA list.

Maybe they find themselves a little desperate and are willing to part with Joc Pederson or one of their top pitching propsects. Who knows...

oleosmirf
oleosmirf

@Kenny Ryan and then you have arguably the worst right side of the infield in baseball so no.

cmetsfan
cmetsfan

@Kenny Ryan @oleosmirf We could take the best prospect and flip him for something we do need, which is how they should be doing things, but I'm not for trading Murphy, personally.

oleosmirf
oleosmirf

@Kenny Ryan @oleosmirf The Mets are not making the playoffs this season. Too many holes.

You use your trade pieces to acquire a top SS prospect like Lee and if he is not ready opening day then you play Tejada and hope for the best.
