Sandy Alderson told reporters the Mets will add an arm to the bullpen in time for today’s series finale against the Padres.
Alderson said he wasn’t sure what the corresponding roster move might be, although it could involve placing Jenrry Mejia on the disabled list, who left last night’s game with continued elbow discomfort.
“The first issue for us is what to do for tomorrow,” Alderson explained to reporters following the Mets’ 8-2 loss to the Padres. “So we’ll probably have someone come in. We’ll make a move tomorrow. It may involve Jenrry. It may involve someone else. And we’ll go from there.”
According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, the Mets are expected to recall Greg Burke from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Burke is 0-2 with a 4.66 ERA in 28 games in two separate stints with the Mets this season.
