Matt Harvey hopes to throw off a mound on June 10

Matt Harvey is aiming to throw off the slope of the mound on June 10, he told reporters Friday at Citi Field.

He passed another milestone earlier in the day, throwing from 120 feet for the first time. he will eventually move to 150 feet, then target the mound.

“This has been a long wait, and coming back obviously is all I can think about,” Harvey told reporters. “I couldn’t be happier with the way I feel. I’m excited to keep moving forward.”

Harvey is expected to miss all of 2014, while rehabbing from last year’s Tommy John surgery. He has said he hoped to pitch in a big-league game this season, but the Mets have been consistent in saying that is very unlikely.

He might heal a lot quicker than expected-

A lot of people are praying.

But: the mets need to hit cause their pitching is more than fine to win--

By adding/ Montero, De Grom and The Guard/ and maybe another arm or stick

That'll be enough for this year.

If they make it to the World Series and they have 1 seemingly weak arm link in the 1st 4 starters which i think won't be the case if they get that far--

Then, with a healthy Harvey trying to come out the gates like ip man in that movie where they shot his friend and he WANTED/ to come out the gate to redeem his friends honor-

THEN I MIGHT ROLL THE DICE-/

And no one can front and say--

That wouldn't be exiting.

But that's only if things are assured and they really need him and he's really fully healthy.

And at that point only for a possible World Series appearance.

Hope the MEts are not trying to rush Matt back or push him to soon it could be harmful to his recovery and detrimental to his career. Take it easy with him

Good to hear but, take your time. Unless you can give us nine innings it won't matter without a closer!!

Hoping he doesn't go crazy and aggravates the issue. Best of luck, Mr. Harvey.
