Latest on Outfield market: Rangers courting free-agent Cody Ross

The Yankees are interested in bringing back Raul Ibanez, and Ibanez wants to return to the Yankees (NY Post).

Speaking of the Yankees, they could have a difficult time finding trade partners for Curtis Granderson (Journal News).

Nick Swisher would like to join the Dodgers, but he is not on their radar, nor are the Dodgers expected to deal Andre Ethier to make room for Swisher (CBS Sports).

Among the free agent outfielders who are still available, Ross is the most logical fit for the Mets. While his power rates are better against left-handed pitching, he handles righties better than Hairston, which makes him less of a platoon candidate and more of a starter. Ross had a very similar year to Ryan Ludwick, who signed a new two-year, $15 million deal with the Reds earlier this month.
