I wonder if the Mets will express interest in Jiminez on a short-term deal. Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors expects him to eventually sign at least a three-year deal. Jiminez was pretty terrible in 2011 and 2012, and so it’s unclear whether or not those inconsistencies will impact his market. However, he had a very good year this past season, incorporating his splitter more. He doesn’t throw as hard as he did a few years ago, but he has hard and heavy stuff through the strike zone that helps him keep the ball in the ballpark.
