Know Your Enemy: New York Yankees

Hot or Not: The Yankees are 14-11 in their last 25 games. They started the season 5-6.

On the Bases: They are 25-for-30 (83.3%) in steal attempts this season, which is tied for third-best in MLB.

The Bullpen: The Yankees are 8-1 this season when leading after the first inning. Pitchers currently in their bullpen have combined for a 2.04 ERA, with opponents hitting just .196 against them.

The Rotation: Yankees starting pitchers have allowed just 45 walks all season. They have the best strikeout-to-walk ratio for a pitching staff in the big leagues. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, RHP Masahiro Tanaka‘s 58 strikeouts through his first seven career games is the fifth-highest total in baseball since 1900.

The Lineup: Yankees rookie infielder Yangervis Solarte leads their roster with 20 RBI, marking the second-highest total among all MLB rookies. He leads all qualifying MLB rookies with a .315 batting average and a .394 OBP. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, OF Alfonso Soriano has 22 HR and 64 RBI in 92 games since rejoining the Yankees last July marking the second-most home runs and tied for the sixth-most RBI in the Majors over the stretch.

The Goodbye Tour: Yankees SS Derek Jeter is playing his final season. He is the only player on either team to play in the first regular-season Subway Series interleague match up in 1997.

Maybe the pathetic Mets newspaper, the Daily News, can do 28 features on Jeter every day instead of a mere 27...

Please dear God, no way, no how should the Mets make a spectacle of the Jeter farewell tour. When he comes to Queens, .... just do nothing. Please,...just please. Ignore it and eventually it will go away.

@hankincolo  Nah. The Wilpons are going to melt all the 1969 and 1986 WS rings and recast and rededicate them to Jeter so he has more rings.

Personally, I'd just give Saint Jeter Jay Horwitz to be his personal toilet attendant.
