To spotlight the Chevy Youth Baseball program, which is entering its fourth year, SNY visited participating youth baseball teams and asked kids what they want to know about Keith Hernandez:

Ben Sommers, Age 11: Who was your favorite team to play against?

Keith Hernandez: The Los Angeles Dodgers.

DJ Owen, Age 15: Which player, when you played, did you consider your biggest rival?

Keith Hernandez: I never felt that a player was a rival.

Alessio Paolucci, Age 11: What is your favorite ballpark?

Keith Hernandez: Wrigley Field.

Jared Turell, Age 12: Who was your favorite player growing up?

Keith Hernandez: Mickey Mantle.

Max Himmelfalb, Age 12: How does it feel going up to bat in a Major League Baseball game?

Keith Hernandez: Depends on the situation. Primarily that the good Lord blessed me with the ability to play Major League Baseball.

Andrew Klein, Age 11: What is your favorite part of being a broadcaster?

Keith Hernandez: Still being a part of the game.

Chevy Youth Baseball is a grassroots initiative that establishes a positive relationship between the New York Area Chevrolet Dealers and the communities they serve. The program provides assistance to 65 leagues by contributing over $100,000 in monetary and equipment donations.
