During this afternoon’s game in Atlanta, Josh Thole was hit by a foul ball above the ear off the bat of Kris Medlen.

Thole left the dugout after being hit under his own power.

Sept. 30, 4:53 pm: According to SNY’s Kevin Burkhardt, Thole does not have a concussion, although his right ear is swollen.

Sept. 30, 3:20 pm: According to SNY’s Kevin Burkhardt, Josh Thole is ok and alert in the Mets clubhouse.

Thole’s status is unknown at this time.
